Wednesday 10th January - walks**** – Around Trimley – Sunny, breezy and cold.

The run of cold winds from the NE continue with no let-up in sight but at least it was sunny again today, after yesterdays sunrise walk down to Felixstowe seafront to get wet feet taking pics I layed in a warm bed this morning:) Nice morning at home doing my exercises while listening to T. Rex LPs and Mag and made our huge shepards pie which usually last four nights! As the sun was out we decided to pack a picnic and drive to the Trimley Churches for a walk in the lovley countryside. We set off through the churchyard around one to check for snowdrops and were surprised to see several clumps in full bloom:) Crossing the High Road we take Gaymers Lane which leads to the huge green footbridge over the railway line, it was pleasant when you were sheltered from the keen breeze and not so much mud today which made walking easy! Crossing the fields, no deer spotted again but did see footprints in the mud again ending up at the bench at the top of the lane leading down to Loompit Lake with views down to the Orwell. It was too cold to stay too long but lunch was yummy and we had a warm cuppa. Moving on down the hill to the old pump house and up to the small fishing lakes where three anglers were hoping for a bite and back to the railway line, we saw loads of trains today too! Back to the footbridge where a large mastiv was pleased to see us and getting knackered we were pleased to see the van after walking nearly 4 miles! Home for a warming hot water bottle and cuppa another top day despite the cold weather!

PS - was lucky enough to get my third pic of the week on the local TV weather, snowdrops on ITV,s About Anglia tonight:)
